Story Mode vs Mission Mode
Pick the mode that matches your goal: a character-led campaign through the new world, or a wider sandbox-style objective with more nations to choose from.

Choose in 30 Seconds
| Choose Story Mode if… | You want a narrative route, a defined protagonist, and one of six campaigns set against the Neo Abyssloa Empire. |
|---|---|
| Choose Mission Mode if… | You want 24 selectable nations and objectives that can differ by nation, such as continental unification or repaying debt. |
| New to Brigandine? | Story Mode is the clearer first route. Official producer notes say the story has no direct character or plot connection to earlier games. |
| Want a harder first run? | Either mode supports Easy, Normal, and Hard. Pick the mode for structure first, then select difficulty. |
What Actually Changes
| Playable sides | Story: 6 nations. Mission: 24 nations. |
|---|---|
| Campaign frame | Story follows named protagonists in the new Meltitea setting. Mission focuses on the selected nation's individual objective. |
| Core battle systems | Both use army organization, stronghold attacks, and hex-grid invasion battles. |
| Save planning | Official producer information lists 20 save slots, enough to separate mode and difficulty runs. |
For the six named Story nations, use the Factions guide. This page stays focused on the mode decision so the two URLs do not answer the same search intent.
A Practical First-Run Route
- Use the demo to test Gran Dragnica and Scarlet Will before choosing a full Story campaign.
- Choose Story Mode on Easy or Normal if the Organization and Invasion phases are new to you.
- Keep a separate save before committing to a long campaign; the game officially provides 20 save slots.
- Move to Mission Mode when you want a different national objective rather than a second story-led introduction.
What Is Still Unconfirmed
Do not assumeThe official pre-release sources do not publish a complete list of all 24 Mission nations, every objective, or a fixed campaign length for each mode. Those details stay out of the main answer until the released game or an official reference confirms them.
