Classes and Class Change
Search results already mix this game with older Brigandine class lists. This page stays with the current official system text: units may change class at a certain level, squads have hard limits, and Support grants named monster bonuses.
What Class Change Confirms
| Who can change | Leaders and monsters. |
|---|---|
| When | “When a unit reaches a certain level, it may be able to change its class.” |
| Exact level | Unverified. Preview numbers in reviews are not treated as official. |
| Full class tree | Not published on the official system page. Not reconstructed from older titles. |
Leaders, Monsters, and Squads
Battles are hexagonal. Positioning, affinity, skills, height, movement limits, and terrain all matter. The official page also flags obstacles with special effects.
- Leader units command multiple monster units. Story Mode main characters each have unique skills.
- Units specialize, including close-range and long-range roles.
- If a leader is defeated, the entire squad is forced to retreat.
- Each squad can have up to 5 monsters. The formation they can use is determined by the leader.
Support System
A leader can use the Support command to have one monster in the squad join them and grant that monster’s support ability. The official examples are:
| Dragon | Movement +1 |
|---|---|
| Pixie | Recover 5% of MP at the start of each turn |
| Demon | All allied units become Dark element, but Magic Defense decreases by 20% |
Skills cover attack, defense, recovery, and support. The official page mentions long-range attacks, area-of-effect magic, and status ailments. It does not publish a complete skill list here, so this guide does not invent one.
How Units Get Stronger Between Battles
These are army systems, not class names, but they are the official growth loop around Class Change:
- Spend materials to level up controlled strongholds and give bonuses to units.
- Send leaders who skip a battle on Explorations for resources, money, and experience.
- Hire additional leaders and monsters at strongholds.
- Buy and sell weapons and armor from the Traveling Merchant.
